CHASE NOVA

Having adopted a fairly traditional route to success by playing a grueling schedule of gigs around Ireland over the past 2 years (and even embarking on a well-received US-tour), hotly-tipped young Irish singer songwriter Chase Nova recently entered a Dublin studio to start work on his debut full-length album. As yet incomplete, the recordings already show considerable promise and demonstrate Chase Nova's unique selling points: a blend of singer/songwriter balladry and acoustic hip hop, sparse piano chords and stream-of-consciousness vocal delivery, gentle percussion and lilting hooks, as well as moments of melancholic wistful folk and brass sections coming from out of nowhere. All the songs are strikingly melodic, and with his quick-witted attitude and tales of relationship woe it is easy to see why Chase Nova is just as home frequenting open-mike nights as he is playing larger venues backed by a band.
