JESSE HEFFERNAN

Jesse Heffernan is a dublin based artist with Carribbean heritage. Growing up with music from an early age, his father, music television producer David Heffernan, has always been the main influence in his music upbringing, himself working with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood mac, Van Morrison and Phil Lynott, to name a few.

Starting in his first band in school Jesses backbone is as a drummer, playing for 7 years in various funk and rock band. More recently he's become singer for hip hop crew "The Animators" who saw there first success on Brendan Oconnors Saturday Night show in 2011.

Jesses interest in the arts stems off from music and into other mediums such as animation and illustration, studying in AIDT and Ballyfermot before going into the new Bimm school to study Songwriting. In BIMM he found what he needed in the form of creative minds and brilliant musicians. But after only a year of music college he dropped out to pursue his career as a songwriter, taking his band with him.

Starting fresh he wanted to pay homage to the great minds that influenced his creativity, beginning with writing folk and soul songs that reminded him of John Martyn, Nancy Griffith and Otis Redding, bored of the everyday radio repetitiveness. His main goal is to show his take on the evolution of music and the art of songwriting, progress threw sound as he goes.
